Stockwarrants.com actually has its roots in
stock options analysis. In 1994, we developed a neural-net based
call and put analysis program. In 1995 we opened a web site, Axon
Options Analysis, based on our options analysis methods. While
our model portfolio realized a net percentage gain over the
duration of the web site, it became apparent to us that the
warrant market, largely by virtue of its inefficiency, offered
greater opportunities for the profits that we had hoped for. In
April of 1996 we offered a simple warrant web page as an addendum
to our free options analysis web site and instituted the model
portfolio that we now maintain as a feature of stockwarrants.com.
In June of 1996 we discontinued the options analysis pages while
maintaining the warrants page.
Soon we'll be celebrating our 13th anniversary as an online service. Better yet, the 13th anniversary of an internet-based service whose "member's only" area is supported only by subscriptions, not advertisements...something few web sites can claim. Over this time, our model portfolio has increased in value by a factor of 6, while both the Dow and Nasdaq indices have increased by factors of around 2.5. Note that our gains have been gotten with a minimum of wheeling and dealing (i.e. short-term trades) and with a fairly large cash position at most times.
Beginning in 2003, we branched out into another investment arena that we feel has been vastly under-covered...discerning market trends, seasonal and otherwise, using honest-to-goodness statistics and data-crunching (as opposed to merely eyeballing charts). Be sure to check out our "Market Trends" site.
We won't be so pompous as to claim that we offer our services for the joy of increasing efficiency and information flow in the market. However, we wouldn't be lying to say that we do derive a good deal of satisfaction by occasionally exposing some of the underlying mechanisms in the otherwise chaotic mess known as the American stock market.
Our webmaster, Ken Hodge, has a degree in biochemistry from the University of California. In addition to manning the two websites, he has worked as a programmer, chemist...and building contractor! Numerous other individuals have also made contributions in terms of programming, site development, and market expertise...our thanks to all!
